The Houston Police Department has announced that Houston’s annual National Night Out event will take place on Tuesday, October 5 (6-8 pm).

Tanglewilde and Westmont will be holding their National Night Out in the Meadowcroft bridge area between the two neighborhoods (technically between Westerland and Rocky Ridge) from 6-8 pm.

We’ll have refreshments, door prizes for the adults, and goodie bags for the kiddos!

The WildeWest Pool and Rec Center is hosting a telescope party for Tanglewilde and Westmont resident on Saturday, Sept 18, 8pm-???

Bring a lawn chair and beverage (no glass) and hang out with your neighbors.

Per neighbor Seth Miller on NextDoor, Tanglewilde and Westmont neighbors are invited to another Friday get together, this time in Westmont (August 20, 6:30pm, 9323 Winsome)

The last happy hour was a lot of fun. Hope to see lots of you for ice cream on Friday! (and thanks to the Elders and Millers for organizing)

The National Night Out event is a great opportunity to socialize with neighbors and meet with local law enforcement officers. Houston’s has traditionally been held in October, when it is cooler.

Various Tanglewilde neighbors are working to organize this year’s neighborhood event (ideally combining with Westmont). Two years ago, local realtor Larry Mercer sponsored a really nice one in Tanglewilde.
