Tanglewilde Election Date

The Tanglewilde Civic Club will hold its annual membership/elections/general meeting on Thursday, January 29, 2026.  The meeting will take place from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at Los Tios (Westheimer) in the large meeting room behind the main restaurant area.

Per the by-laws, only paid members in good standing may run for office and vote in the annual election, and dues must be paid one week before the election to be eligible. So if you haven’t paid your 2026 membership dues yet and wish to participate in the election (and support the civic club), please review the various options to pay dues at www.tanglewilde.cc.

If any other 2026 paid members wish to run for any of the positions, please inform the board at least one week before the election (by January 22) by emailing info@tanglewilde.cc (you can also reply to this email if that’s more convenient). We are in need of a new secretary.  Duties of the various board positions are listed in the by-laws. Candidates will be offered time to address the membership (if desired).

The voting will be by secret ballot of the membership at the meeting. We can provide members an absentee ballot with advance notice (it will need to be returned to an officer by the day of the meeting of course) – please just email info@tanglewilde.cc

The agenda will be posted on the website.  We hope to see you there. We’ll send paid members a reminder once the candidate list is finalized in roughly two weeks.

2025 Tanglewilde Independence Day Parade

Hello Neighbors,

Please join us for the 2025 Annual Tanglewilde Independence Day Parade at 10:30 am on July 4th!

The preliminaries will begin at 10:00 am at the LA Fitness parking lot. We will aim for the parade to be underway at about 10:30 am or so.

We encourage veterans, kids and their bikes/trikes/wagons/strollers, adults, and well-behaved pets to join our procession.

Also if you have a snazzy car or truck, especially a convertible, we’d love you to join the parade. Please email us ahead of time (info@tanglewilde.cc), as a “neighborhood procession” as defined by the city may only have a dozen vehicles.

The parade flyer is here:

We’ll have hotdogs and refreshments afterwards (while supplies last) at 9535 Val Verde

Please note new location for the hot dog social:

Prohibited Yard Parking Ordinance in effect as of October 2, 2024

On October 2, 2024, Houston City Council approved Tanglewilde’s application to prohibit yard parking in the neighborhood via the consent agenda.

The Prohibited Yard Parking Ordinance became effective upon passage. It is now unlawful to park vehicles for an extended period on front lawns (specifically, not on your driveway/approved surface) in the neighborhood.

The text of the ordinance may be downloaded here: Ordinance 2024-733

If you plan to explore widening your driveway, please ensure that you apply for a permit. The City of Houston WILL shut down any unapproved construction.

Violations may be reported to the Houston Police Department – Midwest division: (832) 394 1200
