National Night Out 2024 (Tuesday, October 1)

The Houston Police Department has announced that Houston’s annual National Night Out event will take place on Tuesday, October 1.

Tanglewilde and Westmont will be holding their National Night Out at the Meadowcroft bridge area between the two neighborhoods (technically between Westerland and Rocky Ridge) from 6-8 pm.

Several generous neighbors, the civic club(s), and the Mercer Team will be providing complimentary food and such.

Please come join us – and feel free to bring a lawn chair and preferred beverage(s).

Quarterly Meeting – 3Q 2024: Agenda (September 19, 2024)

As noted previously, The Tanglewilde Civic Club will be holding its regular quarterly meeting on September 19, 2024.

The event will take place from 7:00-8:30 pm at Los Tios (Westheimer).

This meeting will be light on business (mostly the basic officer reports, per the bylaws).

We will try to work through our routine business quickly, as we do have an important visitor this time:

Our (District F) councilmember, Tiffany Thomas, will be joining us. She’ll be providing relevant updates for the neighborhood and district and take questions.

The agenda is posted below. We hope to see you there!

Save the date: Quarterly meeting (September 19, 2024)

The Tanglewilde Civic Club will be holding its next quarterly board meeting on September 19, 2024.

The event will take place from 7-9 pm at the Los Tios (Tanglewilde/Westheimer) meeting room.

We do not yet have a program lined up, but have asked if HPD and the District F Council Office can provide representatives this time.

A full agenda will be posted soon, but please SAVE THE DATE.

2024 Tanglewilde Independence Day Parade

Hello Neighbors,

Please join us for the 2024 Annual Tanglewilde Independence Day Parade at 10:30 am on July 4th!

The preliminaries will begin at 10:00 am at the LA Fitness parking lot.

We encourage veterans, kids and their bikes/trikes/wagons/strollers, adults, and well-behaved pets to join our procession.

Also if you have a snazzy car or truck, especially a convertible, we’d love you to join the parade. Please email us ahead of time (cmarka@gmail.com), as a “neighborhood procession” as defined by the city may only have a dozen vehicles.

The parade flyer is here:

We’ll have hotdogs and refreshments afterwards (while supplies last) at 9631 Meadowcroft Dr.
