Hello Neighbors,
Please join us for the 2025 Annual Tanglewilde Independence Day Parade at 10:30 am on July 4th!
The preliminaries will begin at 10:00 am at the LA Fitness parking lot. We will aim for the parade to be underway at about 10:30 am or so.
We encourage veterans, kids and their bikes/trikes/wagons/strollers, adults, and well-behaved pets to join our procession.
Also if you have a snazzy car or truck, especially a convertible, we’d love you to join the parade. Please email us ahead of time (info@tanglewilde.cc), as a “neighborhood procession” as defined by the city may only have a dozen vehicles.
The parade flyer is here:

We’ll have hotdogs and refreshments afterwards (while supplies last) at 9535 Val Verde
Please note new location for the hot dog social:

The general meeting will take place from 7:00-7:45 pm at Los Tios (Westheimer) but we have the meeting space until 9:00 pm.
The remainder of the time will be used as a neighborhood holiday social, to accept 2025 membership dues, and to discuss neighborhood and other issues informally. The civic club will be sponsoring some light appetizers this time.
The agenda is posted below. We hope to see you there.

On October 2, 2024, Houston City Council approved Tanglewilde’s application to prohibit yard parking in the neighborhood via the consent agenda.
The Prohibited Yard Parking Ordinance became effective upon passage. It is now unlawful to park vehicles for an extended period on front lawns (specifically, not on your driveway/approved surface) in the neighborhood.
The text of the ordinance may be downloaded here: Ordinance 2024-733
If you plan to explore widening your driveway, please ensure that you apply for a permit. The City of Houston WILL shut down any unapproved construction.
Violations may be reported to the Houston Police Department – Midwest division: (832) 394 1200
The Houston Police Department has announced that Houston’s annual National Night Out event will take place on Tuesday, October 1.
Tanglewilde and Westmont will be holding their National Night Out at the Meadowcroft bridge area between the two neighborhoods (technically between Westerland and Rocky Ridge) from 6-8 pm.
Several generous neighbors, the civic club(s), and the Mercer Team will be providing complimentary food and such.
Please come join us – and feel free to bring a lawn chair and preferred beverage(s).
